Mr. Yerington — Now Appearing on Twitter!!

Hello Parents, Guardians and Students:

Well, now that we’ve started our winter break a day early and I didn’t get a chance to say this in school today I’ll say it here on the blog!  

I want to wish all of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY 2009!!  I hope you take time to enjoy the season and remember the REAL reason why we celebrate!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

I wanted to take a moment and wish all of my students, parents and guardians, and anyone else who reads my blog a very happy Thanksgiving Holiday!! 

Better yet, if you care to leave a comment and say what you are thankful for I think that might be fun!  I’ll start:   I’m thankful for our freedom and all the vets that fought for it and continue to protect our freedoms.  I am thankful for my family and friend and finally, I am thankful for my students who work hard and try their best!

So, let’s see what YOU are thankful for.  Get those comments rolling.  BTW, you don’t have to have a user name or anything to comment, however ALL comments will be moderated!!

Thanks for Coming to Conferences

I would like to thank all of the parents/guardians who came to conferences on Tuesday and Thursday nights.  Your support is appreciated.  If you were unable to get in to see me due to my schedule being so full I do apologize.  I am still more than willing to meet with you.  You may e-mail me at school or call me and we can set up a time or even do the conference by phone.  Whatever works best for you.

Grades Page Now Working Properly

PROBLEM WITH GRADE POSTING PAGE

I apologize for the problems you may have experienced trying to access the grade reporting page this evening.  Apparently, there is an issue with my grade book software on my home computer, which is a Mac.  I will post new grades at school tomorrow morning.  The grade page should be fully functional by 8:10 and I will post an update here and on my web page so you will know if it is working. I will also be contacting the company that makes my grade book software to alert them to the problems!!  I do apologize for any inconvenience.

Books Handed Out Today!!

Attention Parents and Guardians:

I handed out the student’s “Sciencesaurus” books today!  This book will be very helpful when they are working on their daily science and/or studying for tests.  Since these are brand new books, I would like them to be protected.  Therefore, I am requiring that each book be COVERED by FRIDAY, AUGUST 29.  I am asking that they NOT use the stretchable, fabric covers.  Other teachers have discovered that these offer little too no protection for the books.  I told the students that they can use West Middle School book covers (which the office is out of right now) or a paper sack.  If they need help putting either of these on I can assist them during homeroom.

Open House – Thanks for Coming!

I would like to thank all the parents, guardians and students who came to open house.  It was very nice meeting everyone.  I am looking forward to a GREAT school year.  Please remember that if you have questions, concerns or comments feel free to contact me at anytime.  As I mentioned to some of you at Open House e-mail is one of the best ways to contact me as I check my e-mail often.  Even on weekends I monitor my school and personal e-mail accounts and try to respond as soon as possible.
