Yesterday (Monday, April 16) I gave the following assignments:
SCIENCE
Students need to write a paragraph detailing what they observed during “Science Magic #1″. The paragraph needs to be written in complete sentences and use proper punctuation and capitalization. This is due Wednesday. If they believe then know how the trick worked they can include a description of that as well. If they are correct they will get to explain the magic to the class
SOCIAL STUDIES

Hi everyone,
I just now found out that I can do something pretty cool. I can post a practice test for social studies online!! I realize this is a nice time to realize this since it’s almost the end of the year, but I had no idea that my test editor had the feature. So, from now on you can look for a link to my practice tests!! They will contain about the same material as the real test, but in a different order and with the answer choices scrambled. After taking the practice test the system will tell the student how many they got right and their percentage. It also give them a reference to the page number in the book where they an find the answer! (this is marked as REF on the web page.)
You can find the link to the Chapter 3 test on my main page right now
Enjoy and I hope this helps improve test grades!

For those who haven’t noticed I made two additions to my blogroll (list of links to other pages) They are:
1) Living Lands and Waters — this is the group that cleans up rivers in the United States. You can find out more about them and their group. If you click on “Cleanups” at the top of the page and then “Stats of River” you can find a whole list of things that Living Lands and Waters have removed from the rivers!
2) The Gateway Arch web site — you can find out all kinds of facts about the arch and how it was built. You can also order tickets online if you are planning a trip there. I HIGHLY recommend that you do this if you plan to visit — otherwise you may not get in as they could sell out like they did when I was there!!
Enjoy the new links!

OK, this post really has nothing to do with the National Science Teacher’s Conference. It DOES however have to do with St. Louis. After the conference my family went down to St. Louis and were able to do some of the things I didn’t get to do when I was there. This includes the St. Louis Zoo and the Arch. I’ve included a few pictures of the arch. If you go I would encourage you to buy your tickets to the arch online before you go!! I didn’t do that when I went to the conference and therefore did not get to go then. My sister and I ordered our tickets online when the family went and it saved us a LONG wait in line!! I’ve added a link to my blogroll for the Gateway Arch in case you are interested. Anyway, on to the pictures. In the 2nd picture be sure to check out the foreground and you will see the Millenium Hotel where I stayed during the conference. In the background (on the left) is the stadium where the Cardinals play (that’s for you NH) You can click on any of the pictures for the larger version!
Here you can see the Arch from a distance
Here is the sign stating the height of the arch
Check out the Millenium Hotel and the stadium where you can see the Card’s play!
